ABOUT US

PEACE HOUSE FOUNDATION

PHF was founded in 2023 by Shedrack Denis Massawe, a young man whose life story is deeply moving but truly inspiring. Having personally experienced homelessness, abandonment, and the harsh realities of life as a vulnerable child, Shedrack transformed his pain into purpose. With determination and a heart full of compassion, he founded the Peace House Foundation to create the kind of support he never had: A place where children in need could feel safe, seen, and supported.

Born out of struggle, the foundation is not just an organization, it is a reflection of Shedrack’s lasting hope and strong determination. His vision is to pass on that same spark of resilience and belief in a better future to the children of Tanzania who, like him, have faced life’s most difficult challenges.

The Peace House Foundation is a safe haven. A place where every child, regardless of their background, story, or circumstances, is welcomed with open arms. It is a space built on love, dignity, and the belief that every child deserves a chance to develop themselves.

The mission of Peace House Foundation is to empower vulnerable children, particularly orphans, children living in extreme poverty, and those affected by neglect, trauma, or displacement. We do this by providing them with essential resources, compassionate care, and meaningful opportunities. We aim to help them rebuild their lives and walk confidently toward a brighter future.

Our vision is to create a world where no child is left behind. A world where every child grows up in a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment.  One that fosters healing, learning, and personal growth. We believe that with the right support, every child has the potential to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

OUR STORY

The Peace House Foundation was not born with formal planning, but in the heart of a child who once had nothing but hope. Shedrack Denis Massawe grew up in a broken home, facing the emotional toll of parental separation and abandonment. At a young age, he found himself without shelter, without support, and without a clear path forward. But even in the darkest moments, Shedrack held on to one belief: no child should face life’s challenges alone.

Guided by this belief, he fought to educate himself, often facing obstacles that would have discouraged many. Yet he stayed determined through it all. His journey, filled with setbacks, strength, and small victories, led him to a greater purpose:  to turn his personal suffering into a source of strength for others.

What started as a modest initiative to provide food and basic care quickly grew into a greater vision. Though the foundation faced early financial difficulties, including a temporary suspension of activities, its spirit never died. Thanks to the wholehearted dedication of volunteers, especially from Siret Volunteers the dream was brought back to life. Their support gave rise to a new chapter for the Peace House Foundation.

In 2023, the foundation was relaunched as a daycare center that goes far beyond basic assistance. It became a place of warmth, guidance, and hope. A place where vulnerable children could feel safe, empowered, and truly loved.

WHAT WE DO

At Peace House Foundation, we offer more than just basic needs. We create an environment where children can heal, learn, and grow. Through Peace House Daycare, we provide a safe space for children to receive nurturing care, emotional support, and quality early education. Our services include:

Nutritional Support: We daily provide healthy, balanced meals to ensure that every child receives the fuel they need for healthy growth and learning.

Emotional and Psychological Care: Many of the children we serve carry deep emotional scars. We offer a loving, stable environment where they can process trauma, build trust, and develop a strong sense of self-worth.

Educational Opportunities: We believe education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. Our daycare provides early childhood education and helps prepare children for long-term academic success.

Healthcare Services: We ensure children have access to basic medical care, vaccinations, and health checkups. Helping them to stay healthy and grow physically.

Beyond these important services, we aim to foster a sense of community, self-confidence, and future-minded thinking in every child we support.

OUR IMPACT

Though still in its early years, the Peace House Foundation has already become a light in the lives of many.

We have helped children move from surviving to thriving, offering not just shelter or education, but dignity, identity, and hope. Every meal served, every lesson taught, and every hug shared is a step toward breaking generational cycles of poverty, trauma, and neglect.

What makes Peace House unique is not just what we do, but how we do it: with empathy, integrity, and a strong belief in the potential of every child.

We don’t just support children, we walk alongside them as they build their futures.

A MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE

Peace House Foundation is more than a charitable organization. It is a movement, a community, and a living promise to the children of Tanzania.

A promise that says: you matter, your dreams are valid, and your future is worth fighting for.

As we continue to grow, we invite individuals, volunteers, organizations, and partners to join us on this journey.

Together, we can build a future where every child is seen, supported, and given the chance to shine.

Peace House Foundation is a movement, a community, and a vision for a better tomorrow.
